Thank you to Zappos for sponsoring this blog post – all thoughts and opinions are, as always, my own. 😉
With the arrival of fall and the changing of leaves (not really in LA but okay), I can’t help but think about how change can be beautiful. I’m not sure if it’s this year (oooo we’ve all felt the struggle), turning 30, or moving to a new city – but this year has brought about a lot of resistance in me. With my job being in a somewhat public space on the internet, it’s been challenging to navigate this change in myself, and how other people might respond to it. When you’ve built a platform of people think of you in a certain way, it can feel really scary to switch things up! But the truth is that periods of growth are inevitable for EVERYONE – so the sooner we let go, the sooner we can transform into who we’re meant to be.
I’m trying to learn and remind myself of this everyday – that it’s okay to change. If we stayed the same forever, we’d just be remaining stagnant – in our jobs, our relationships, and our lives. The reality is that. change means you’re evolving – which gives you the chance to grow into a better version of yourself.
During this period of my life where I feel a bit unsure of who I am and my personal style choices, I’ve been relying on comfortable classics to get me through and still keep me looking polished and like I *tried.* That means lots of vintage band tees, blazers, jeans, and these classic chelsea boots by Hush Puppies from Zappos. I have 3 pairs of Hush Puppies shoes now, which I really dig because they’re some of the most comfortable shoes I own. They all have this special “bounce” technology that makes it feel ultra cushioned when you walk! And…well, bouncy too haha.
Zappos has been one of my go-to shopping spots for a while because of their free expedited shipping for rewards members (seriously, sometimes it’s overnight), 24/7 customer service, and tonssss of options. They also have 365 day returns – and for someone who is chronically indecisive and always buying and returning stuff, that’s *ideal* for me lol.
I’m sure that as I continue to navigate through this season of change and figure out exactly WHO the heck I am, I’ll be trying lots of new styles out from Zappos…and with that 365 day return policy maybe returning some too. 😉
Have any of you been experiencing a period of change this year? What do you do to get through it?
